Pregnancy Hacks for First Time Moms
One thing is for certain. Becoming a mom for the first time is exciting…and scary. There are so many things to think about, to do. It all can be really overwhelming and might have you crossing your legs a little tighter to not go into labor quite yet. There is a silver lining in all of your worries and I’m going to share some of the best pregnancy hacks for first-time moms with you here.
When you’re preparing to welcome your perfect little bundle of joy into the world, there will be times that it’s hard but more times than not, preparing to be a mom is one of the best feelings in the world.
Trust me, I’ve been in the trenches of pregnancy right along with you. This is why I know that these pregnancy hacks work, and they work well.
Pregnancy Hacks for First Time Moms
First off, breathe. Everything is going to be just fine. You’ve studied throughout these past few months on all the good things that you should be doing before your baby arrives so there’s a high likelihood that you’re much more prepared than you’re giving yourself credit for.
Just in case, these easy pregnancy tips can make the months leading up to your delivery as simple and easy as possible.
Hair Tyes Will Be Your New Best Friend
If you’re anything like me, you might not find maternity pants and clothes all that exciting. They might be comfy as you start to expand in the belly region but that’s really about all that they have going for them.
Save your money and just invest in a package of hair tyes instead. This is a simple way to make your current pants still fit, all with an easy pregnancy belly hack.
All you have to do is loop the hair tye through the buttonhole and loop it around your pant’s button. It keeps the pants on and comfy and you’ll be good to go. Just be certain that you’re wearing a long shirt as you don’t want your hack to be visible.
Take the laces out of your shoes
This. All of this. As your belly begins to grow, your ability and want to bend over and tie your shoes is going to be out the window. Instead of feeling frustrated and unable to do this simple task, just omit the issue altogether. Taking the laces out of your shoes means that you can easily just slip them on when you need to.
Or better yet, treat yourself to a few cheap purchases of slip-on shoes and put your laced-up shoes back in your closet for your postpartum days.
Trust in the power of coconut oil
You’re going to see a lot of ads during your pregnancy that talk about the importance of spending money to keep away the stretch marks and help out your skin. And while this is the truth, you don’t have to spend a massive amount of money to make this happen.
One of your biggest allies during your pregnancy is going to be coconut oil. Yes, the same coconut oil that you have in your kitchen that you use for cooking. This oil is a great way to keep your tummy moisturized to help aid in the prevention of stretch marks.
Now, keep in mind, there isn’t really a true formula for having you not get stretch marks. Some people get them, some people don’t. BUT you can easily do everything in your power to keep them away and using coconut oil is such a simple way to do this.
Invest in bra extenders to save money
While it’s a given that your belly is going to grow during pregnancy, let’s not forget that your breasts are going to as well. And trying to keep up with how fast they’re going to be growing can be very, very expensive.
Instead of spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars over the course of the next few months, why not invest a little bit of money into simple bra extenders instead? They’ll allow your bra to stretch a bit with you while you’re growing in that region as well.
Expand your exercise thought process
If you’re a person that likes to exercise, that doesn’t have to stop just because you’re pregnant. However, might find that the exercises that you enjoyed before you became pregnant are getting harder and harder to do. Always talk to your doctor before branching out and trying new things during this time but one of the easiest ways to work your body without putting extra strain and stress on it is to take up swimming.
Not only does it allow you to move your body and get in a great workout but it also takes away the weight and pressure from your joints and body, too. Swimming when pregnant can be a really great exercise hack that can keep you feeling fit and in shape.
Keep certain items by your bed at night
You never know when the pregnancy nausea is going to hit. It might be in the middle of the night, early in the morning, or just anytime that it really feels like it. And when you’re feeling sick, the last thing that you’re going to want to do is get up in the middle of the night and find something to settle your tummy.
A simple pack of crackers, some ginger candies, or other food items that you’ve found to calm your tummy are just a few items to have in reach if, and when that feeling starts to creep up.
The great thing about all of these pregnancy hacks for first-time moms is that they’re all doable and can be implemented easily as well. Because when it comes to yourself and your pregnancy, you want to do whatever you can to make it as smooth as possible.
