If this is your first pregnancy, you’re probably wondering what exactly does a pregnant mom needs to stock up on?!

Today, I’m going to share with you the BEST pregnancy must have items that got me through BOTH of my pregnancies.

The best part about this list? Every item is under $25!

Because you will go through 3 trimesters over the next few months, I’ve broken this list into each trimester.

This way, you can easily jump around to the exact trimester you’re in to see which essential items can make your pregnancy easier!

First Trimester Pregnanc Must Haves

Your body will be going through many changes over the next long months, but it all starts in the first trimester.

Hence, why the first trimester gets a bad rep for being one of the most challenging. What change in life ever really comes easy, right?

Below are the items I suggest so you can find some relief, comfort, and get through the first trimester without feeling too overwhelmed!

Prenatal Vitamins

Prenatal vitamins are a great way to ensure both you and baby are getting the micronutrients you need throughout pregnancy!

If you weren’t taking one before you got pregnant, nows a great time to start!

You don’t need to spend an arm and a leg on expensive fancy vitamins either.

The prenatal vitamins I used (that my doctor recommended) are the Nature Made Prenatal Multivitamin. They’re under $20 and come with just over 3 months’ worth!

Pregnancy Morning Sickness Teas & Remedies

One of the hardest parts of pregnancy for many women is the dreadful morning sickness.

The good news is that not every pregnant mama will experience morning sickness.

The bad news? According to March of Dimes, “At least 7 in 10 pregnant women (70 percent) have morning sickness in the first trimester (first 3 months or the first 12 weeks) of pregnancy”.

The best thing you can do is stock up on a few morning sickness remedies to have handy at home.

One product that worked really well for me (despite the fact that I had hyperemesis gravidarum the first 2 months) was pink stork’s ginger + peach morning sickness tea!

The taste was subtle enough for me to stomach and gentle enough to take the urge of vomiting & nausea away!

It didn’t always work, but it helped more than any other product out there which I’m forever grateful for!

Other products to try for morning sickness are:

  • Having light snacks to eat first thing in the morning.
  • Sipping on cold water

Pregnancy Book(s)

If you’re a seasoned mama – you may not have the need for a pregnancy book since you’ve been through this rodeo before.

However, if you are looking for a pregnancy book to help you understand the changes your body will be going through over the next 9 months, the classic What To Expect When Expecting is hands down my favorite.

Trust me, you won’t go wrong using this book to help guide you and your partner through pregnancy!

New Skincare for Pregnancy

Did you know there are actually some skincare ingredients you should AVOID once you’re pregnant?

That’s right, ingredients like retinoids, high dose salicylic acid, or even phthalates could be linked to negative reproductive health or congenital defects.

Although these items need to be studied more thoroughly, it’s best to steer clear of these while being pregnant.

Instead, opt for a more natural skincare line such as Belli Beauty – who uses nothing but pregnancy safe ingredients to help you keep your skin fresh & clean!

Bonus tip – they’re animal cruelty-free too!

Infused Water Bottle

Making sure you stay hydrated throughout pregnancy is a MUST from day one.

A great way to make drinking all that water more enjoyable is to use an infusion water bottle!

Enjoy refreshing flavors as you choose delicious fruits or herbs to infuse into your water daily, pretty cool, right?

Second Trimester Pregnancy Must Haves

As you move into your 2nd trimester, things usually start getting a bit easier.

Hormones settle down, you’re more accustomed to your ever-changing pregnancy body and life is good!

However, as the baby continues to grow — you may notice more aches, pains, and feelings of anxiety as you near your due date!

That said, these items below are the BEST 2nd trimester must haves!

Comfortable Maternity Clothes

By now, that baby bump is slowly making itself known to the outside world!

Opt to get some comfortable maternity clothes, the kind you can use now, and also grow into as your bump grows.

A few maternity items I lived in (yes, I literally lived in them all the time, LOL) was my motherhood maternity cropped leggings, bumpstart short sleeve tee shirts, and ekouaer maternity pajama set.

These items got me through my second trimester and all the way through (currently) postpartum! Needless to say, I definitely got my money’s worth!

All these items I was able to get under $25 each with a coupon or promotion of some kind. If you search the web for various promo codes, I’m sure you’ll find one to help you save extra $$$.

Body or Pregnancy Pillow

Mama — the pregnancy aches are REAL.

My back & hips had never hurt as much as they did until I was 7 months pregnant.

I remember thinking “I’ll never use one of those obnoxious giant pillows to sleep”. I was so wrong.

I ordered a pregnancy pillow so fast when those aches started keeping me from sleeping and it was the best decision ever.

I ended up purchasing the PharMeDoc C Shaped Pregnancy Pillow and when I had paired it with my baby registry discount I was right around $20.

It looks like the price may have increased since last year, but it’s worth the extra spend (in my opinion at least).

New Bras (Wireless Nursing Bras are the BEST)

All right mamas, you probably noticed your breasts are getting larger and way more in charge at this point in pregnancy.

The usual “cute” bras likely aren’t cutting it between support or functionality…so what’s mom to do?

Pick up some of the Full Busted Seamless Clip Down Nursing Bras by Motherhood Maternity!

These Bras are SO affordable compared to other big-name brands and honestly, they’re very comfortable and comparable!

Prenatal Class

If you have yet to take a prenatal class, now is a great time.

Taking your class in the 2nd trimester gives you time to actually complete the class, digest the information, and seek out help with any questions you may have before your due date rolls around!

Third Trimester Pregnancy Must Haves

You made it to the third trimester! It probably feels crazy to think you’re in the home stretch, but don’t worry, there’s a few more things to help you ease those nerves and make the rest of your pregnancy a breeze!

Supportive Belly Band

By now, that growing belly is likely causing a lot more aches and pains.

These can be back pains, hip pains, joint pains, etc…

One of the best ways to combat these uncomfortable changes is to help take the pressure off of those areas by using a supportive belly band!

You don’t need to spend a fortune to give yourself some support, in fact, this $16 belly band by Nu Momz on amazon was more than enough to give me some relief from my achy back & hips!

Hospital Bag

By now you’re really in the home stretch of things! Baby’s due date is quickly approaching, you’re finishing up the last things on your to-do lists and wait… have you packed your hospital bag yet?!

If not, this is the PERFECT time to get yourself a nice big hospital bag to load up with your birthing necessities and have it packed & ready to go for the big day!

I used a pretty inexpensive duffel bag that folds back down into a compact easy to carry square.

It had LOTS of space to bring everything I needed to the hospital PLUS all the things they send you home with!

Take a breastfeeding class

An in-person or online breastfeeding class is a MUST if you’re planning to try to nurse or exclusively pump for your baby!

There are so many struggles and challenges that can arise with breastfeeding that being prepared can set you up for a successful breastfeeding journey!

Milkology is one of the leading and most inexpensive online breastfeeding classes you can sign up for. It’s a well-rounded class taught by a certified lactation educator.

After taking Milkology myself, I think it’s one of the best resources a new or expecting mom could ever have at her fingertips!

I hope this list gave you some great ideas to help you along the way throughout your pregnancy!

Out of all pregnancy must-have essentials listed, which one do you think could help you the MOST?
